Staff Research Engineer for Radio Frequency Systems Design (all genders)

Silicon Austria Labs is looking for researchers with various job profiles with expertise in one of our cutting-edge research areas related to the field of electronic based systems to strengthen our team. 

As a Staff Research Engineer in Millimeter Wave Technologies Unit, you will be part of a highly innovative team working on the development and implementation of advanced RF systems. You will work on exciting projects and make a significant contribution to the development of new technologies.

Your future tasks include:

  • Responsible for research and development in microwave and mmW technologies, shaping the future of high-frequency sensing and communications.
  • Implement both hardware and software solutions to realize complex RF and microwave systems.
  • Develop comprehensive RF and microwave systems, including circuit design and antenna development, working closely with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Perform accurate simulations of RF and microwave systems to optimize the efficiency and performance of the solutions developed.
  • Carry out laboratory tests and measurements at microwave frequencies to ensure system quality and functionality.
  • Project Management, Project Acquisition
  • Technical Lead
  • External representation of SAL project team

Your profile:

  • You have 4+ years of experience in RF-Systems and knowledge of the simulation tools
  • Experience in leadership of small project teams
  • worked with state-of-the-art commercial design/simulation tools 
  • Hands-on skills including high-frequency measurements on PCB and/or on-wafer
  • Interested in broadening your scope from technical work to research projects
  • Excellent English skills; German is an advantage

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) in occupational group F (F1 salary = EUR 4.868, paid 14 times a year). Your actual salary depends on your experience and qualifications. We offer a salary starting with a minimum gross salary of EUR 72.000 (annual, based on an All-in contract).
