SAL is looking for an experienced Business Developer for our Research Division Power Electronics, developing new business areas and sales markets, maintaining existing ones, and sourcing new customers and partners. You will play a key role in promoting the SAL brand and represent the company at national and international events. You will collaborate closely with the division's management, business developers and researchers.
Your future tasks include:
- Acquisition of R&D projects for Power Electronics, focusing on highly efficient, power-dense converters for various applications.
- Development of business opportunities and directions, including finding new markets and researching their demands.
- Co-developing the division’s research strategy with senior researchers – providing insight into current trends and expected developments in the industry and identifying opportunities and challenges.
- Key account management for premium partners.
- Developing and shaping service offerings for contract research with the team.
- Supporting the acquisition of R&D projects for other SAL divisions in collaboration with other business developers.
- Liaising with the marketing and PR teams, as well as researchers, to create marketing campaigns and update the division’s website. This includes planning conference visits and demonstrations.
- Representing the division at internal and external events.
- Organisation and management of trade show booths
- Developing quotes and proposals for clients.
Your profile:
- Completed education in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and ideally a background in Power Electronics (MSc., PhD)
- 3+ years of experience in a relevant industry (Electronics, Mechatronics, Power Electronics) in Business Development, Sales, or Marketing
Experience and a proven track record in project acquisition and key account management - Entrepreneurial, strategic mindset with experience in strategy development and a strong network in the Austrian and European ecosystem would be a great advantage
- Fluency in German and English, with excellent communication skills
- Solid market understanding of power electronics applications and awareness of industry trends and opportunities

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group E (E1 salary = EUR 4.056,00 paid 14 times a year) based on 38,5 hours per week).
